Skincare Tip #1 - Are you Dehydrated?

Skincare Tip #1 - Are you Dehydrated?

Hey beauts!

I thought it was time to write a blog about a topic I think not many people think about when it comes to skin.

Do you have dry or dehydrated skin and what's the difference?

𝘿𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙣

Dry skin is more of a "skin type". If you have dry skin, your skin just doesn't produce as much natural oil, leaving it feeling rough, flaky, and maybe a bit dull. And yeah, those fine lines might show up more often.

𝘿𝙚𝙝𝙮𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙣:

Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, is like a temporary condition that can happen to anyone, no matter their skin type. It's all about your skin lacking water, not oil. So, you might notice your skin feeling tight, sensitive, and looking tired.

For dry skin, you want to focus on giving it extra moisture. Look for products with natural oils that trap in moisture like Rosehip oil, to keep your skin nice and hydrated.

If you're dealing with dehydration, it's all about getting more water into your skin. Drink plenty of water, use hydrating oils or face creams.

A skincare routine for dry or dehydrated skin typically focuses on providing hydration, nourishment, and barrier repair. Remember, your skin is unique and can change based on the weather, what you eat, and how you take care of it. So, don't be afraid to switch up your routine and listen to what your skin is telling you.

Morning Routine:

1. Cleanser:
- Use a gentle, hydrating cleanser to clean your face without stripping away natural oils.

2. Toner:
- Apply a hydrating toner with ingredients like hyaluronic acid to replenish moisture and prepare your skin for the next steps.

3. Moisturiser:
- Use a rich, nourishing moisturizer containing ingredients like shea butter, or fatty acids to lock in moisture. We would recommend our Pomegrante & Jasmin Face Cream.

4. Sunscreen:
- Finish your morning routine with sunscreen with at least SPF 30 to protect your skin from UV rays.

Evening Routine:

1. Cleanser: - Cleanse your face with the same gentle cleanser used in the morning.

2. Exfoliation (2-3 times a week):
- If your skin can tolerate it, incorporate a natural exfoliant to remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover.

3. Toner:
- Apply the hydrating toner again.

4. Face Oil
- If your skin is extremely dry, consider using a nourishing face oil containing ingredients like jojoba, argan, or rosehip oil. This step can be done before or after your moisturiser, depending on personal preference. Our Rosehip & Vitamin E Face Oil is the perfect face oil for dry skin.

Weekly Treatments:

1. Hydrating Mask (1-2 times a week):
- Use a hydrating mask like our Moroccan Ghassoul to give your skin an extra moisture boost as well as remove any excess dirt or dead skin cells.

2. Sheet Mask (as needed):
- Incorporate a hydrating sheet mask into your routine when your skin needs an extra dose of moisture. Use it after cleansing and before your moisturising.
